Almost There

Hopefully this time next week I'll be happily settled in at Swanwick and might even have sold one or two books in the Summer School bookshop.

Barring disaster, my copies should reach me towards the end of the coming week, in advance of the official publication date, 7th September, when We Could Possibly Comment - Ian Richardson Remembered becomes available in bookshops. I've already received direct orders from abroad - thanks to PayPal - and hope to dispatch them as soon as possible after my consignment arrives in Glasgow.

Flyers and bookmarks have been ordered -

In the next month and beyond, the next phase will begin - contacting newspapers and revisiting bookshops and there's already a booking with a charity organisation for a coffee morning launch in September.

It's rather fortuitous that the Yesterday Channel have been showing the House of Cards series on Saturdays.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of the other great series Ian was in Ian Richardson - IMDB could be shown again too.

  1. I don't know about you, but I'm finding all this quite, quite exciting. I must try to get hold of something of his to watch in honor of the release of your book.

(And I'm left wondering what I'm doing being audacious enough to be commenting on blogs such as yours and Brian's...)

  2. I've got mixed feelings - excitement tinged with sadness and with the hope that it will do well and prove to be a fitting tribute to someone who added a great deal to my life and to the lives of so many others.

    Audacious shmacious!

  3. We are all now waiting with baited breath for "the book". I know it will be a great tribute to a great actor and whilst we might still miss having Ian's talent among us, his legacy lives on and - in my case - I have the joint happy memories of having worked with him such a short while before his death and knowing that it was through him that we became friends, Sharon. What a lot of gifts he he left us...

So I'm hoping everything comes together superbly well this week and specifically today (Monday 3rd) let me wish you a very happy birthday!

  4. Many thanks, Brian - yes, it's almost as if he wanted me to be left with a true and supportive friend - as was he.

Still waiting to get the 'D Date' and hoping there's no delay.

Many thanks, also, for the Birthday wishes. I don't know why, but I keep thinking to myself that 56 is pretty young (which means that so is 60, in your case).
